|Regarding the Current Cluster of Measles in the Northwest suburbs:
1. A person who was potentially exposed and is experiencing symptoms a fever of 101 F or higher, cough, runny nose and red eyes with or without rash, should call their local Department of Public Health, as well as their healthcare provider. These individuals should not go to their doctor’s office or the emergency room as they could infect others around them.

2. Vaccinate your children:
- if your child is 12 months or older and has NOT been vaccinated, please schedule an MMR for you child
- if your child is 12 months - 4 yrs old and has had only ONE dose or MMR, then an urgent booster is NOT recommended unless you child has had exposure to a measles case or the CDC declares a true outbreak.
- Routinely, a booster dose is given between ages 4-6 yrs old.
