Mission Statement
Our mission is to meet the health care needs of our patients and their families in a a caring and professional manner. We will deliver state-of-the-art pediatric health care with integrity and compassion while respecting the dignity and diversity of our patients. Our standard of care is based on evidence-based health care research and "Best Practices" from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Our physicians, nurse practictioners, and staff work collaboratively to deliver excellent pediatric health care to children, teens, and their families. We are your "Medical Home" for pediatric health care.

ODonnellMichael R. O'Donnell, M.D., FAAP
Dr. O'Donnell received his Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, from St. Norbert College. He received his doctorate of medicine degree at The Finch School of Medicine, formerly the University of Health Sciences/ The Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency training at Lutheran General Children's Hospital in Park Ridge, where he was also the chief resident. He is board certified in Pediatrics.

In 1983 he started Children & Teens Emergicenter in Schaumburg, Illinois. This was the first walk in treatment center exclusively for children, nationally . The center was acclaimed in Medicenter magazine and was a featured news item on local television. Within a year, the treatment center was converted to the general practice of pediatrics because of popular demand by the repeat visitors. The name was changed to Children & Teens Medical Center.

Although working full time as administrator and medical director, Dr. O'Donnell still sees patients on a limited basis and will make special time for many of the long time patients of the group practice. He makes the majority of the rounds, almost daily, at Lutheran General Children's Hospital.

"I love pediatric medicine, especially attention deficit disorder. When I started the practice I really appreciated just how important the patient as a person was to fulfill my vocation. Knowing medicine was not enough. With so many group practices around, I knew I had to do the best I could and quite naturally put the patient first. I feel I chose physicians and nurse practitioners with the same ideals. I think the growth of the practice is a testament to this."
